Flashback *3 1/2 years ago*
It was a few weeks after 8th grade had finished and I was excited to start high school. I was starting in a new school next year since there were so many schools in Boston. I was walking down Newbury Street and I turned down Public Alley 443. Yes they name the public alleys here. I don't know why I turned down Public Alley 443, maybe because it's my favorite public alley. Yeah, don't ask. I walked a couple into the alley and I saw someone laying on the ground covered in blood. I screamed and turned to run, but when I turned around there was a man standing in front of me.
"Hey there," the man said to me. I screamed and ran in the other direction. Luckily the alley wasn't a dead end. Good thing I was a fast runner.
"You're lucky you're young!" he yelled after me. "And don't even think about calling the police!" he yelled as I turned onto Newbury Street out of breath.
I jumped onto the T and quickly went home. I told my parents everything as I sat on the couch crying. My dad called the police, hey the guy just told me I couldn't call the police, he never said anything about my dad. After a few days I still hadn't gotten over what happened so we moved to L.A. I had always loved Boston, but after that I couldn't stay there anymore. Since L.A. also has a bunch of high schools I never went through the whole new kid thing. I immediately became friends with Stephanie and Leigh.
*end of flashback*
I sat there crying. No one knew about what happened in Boston besides my parents, not even Stephanie or Leigh, but now my mom was downstairs telling the whole story to a guy I barely knew and not just any guy, but Joe Jonas. Joe had the ability to tell everyone, he had connections to basically all the magazines. All it would take was one phone call. I knew Joe would never do that, but after keeping the secret for so long and not telling anyone it was just a scary thought.
After about 10 minutes I finally calmed down and looked at myself in the mirror and went downstairs to face Joe.
"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to," Joe started to say.
"It's fine, it's not your fault you didn't know. Plus I should be sorry for yelling at you," I said.
"It's okay. I don't blame you. I would be upset if that happened to me," Joe said.
"Can we not talk about this anymore?" I asked. I knew if I talked about this anymore I would start crying again, I could feel it.
"Sure," Joe said as he gave me a hug. Normally I would be freaking out that Joe Jonas was giving me a hug, but these were different circumstances. I felt a few tears run down my face as Joe rubbed my back comforting me. What is going on? I literally met him a half hour ago and he already knows my darkest secret that no one else knows and hes comforting me about it.
"So now you know why I hate Boston," I said.
"Do you want to continue our game?" Joe asked.
"I would like that. I need to get my mind off of it. I haven't thought about it in years and I would like to keep it that way," I said smiling.
"Cool. I think it was your turn to ask the question because I have a feeling I know what the answer to mine is," Joe said smiling and I laughed. Wait I laughed? Joe has some talent to make me laugh when were talking about what happened in Boston.
