Graduate students from universities all over the country were at ORNL the week of June 13 for the neutron leg of the annual NXS school, or National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering. Students, many of whom are pretty well-versed in x-ray diffraction, often get their first exposure to neutron scattering science at these sessions. This year almost 70 students attended the 13th NXS school, including two from Taiwan. The groups performed experiments at both the Spallation Neutron Source and High Flux Isotope Reactor. The group moved to Argonne National Laboratory last week to study x-ray diffraction at the Advance Photon Source.
