I remember being on the #6 train heading south from 116th Street station platform and when the doors began to close, Joe Cuba hustled in squeezing between the doors that I held open for him.
He gave me the widest grin and smiled a big thanks.
I looked at him and recognized his swing and told him-
" I be swinging with Joe" and did a cha cha spin to the laughs of everyone.
That was my NYC moment!
