  • According to Wikipedia, the demo version of the song is from 1973, not 1974.

  • This is a completely different song than the one on the album. The only thing the two songs have in common is the title

This version of the song was recorded at Olympic Studios on New Years Day 1974

  • Bleedin' hell this is good. Agree with folks saying it's quite a different song to the DD song, and that's fuckin' amazin; also agree this is his best period, what a look, what songwriting, and then in a few years time we have a crock of shit like 'Fantastic Voyage', it wasn't as if he was too old or anything; just lost the intensity, anyway this is the classic period, thanks for the upload.

  • Wait, are you all comparing this to the song Candidate in the Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing (reprise) trio? I know they are technically different versions of each other, but really they're two very unique songs. They share some similar lyrics but they're still extremely different. Imagine how wrong this would sound as the bridge between Sweet Thing and Sweet Thing (reprise). They're both amazing songs, but they're also very different songs, and comparing the two just doesn't make sense.

  • The 1:51 picture reminds me of Tilda Swinton (and, of course, she's done a few (?) Bowie-inspired photoshoots. Definitely done one that I've seen, anyway). I much prefer this version to the one on Diamond Dogs.

  • indeed, great pics! Nice upload!

  • amazing pics
