Top Ten: Demons

Demons have been a major part of Supernatural almost since the very beginning, so I felt the need to create a video just for them.

It wasn't easy coming up with them. Not because there were so many, but because there wasn't as many as one might think that were really noteworthy. Plus there was the whole debate of who played who better. But I think I got it down alright.

Speaking of who played who better, for those of you who aren't familiar with the show and are wondering what the hell the 1.0 or 3.0 or whatever is by their name. The thing about demons is that because they can possess people, a demon who shows up more than once is usually played by a different actor/actress each time. So hence the 1.0, 2.0, etc...

My friend suggested that maybe I add a section for why I made the choices I did, so here it is:

10) Ruby 1.0: I chose her because I actually did like Ruby, even Genevieve's Ruby, but Katie was admittedly the stronger actress of the two main gals. She's in this spot because she wasn't the best demon, but still noteworthy.

9) Ruby 1.5: Some probably wondered why she was included since her screen time was so short. But I actually think she did pretty good as Ruby. Better than the two main ladies, even. This is just my opinion, anyways.

8) Crossroads Demon 4.0: You're probably thinking the same about this guy as you were about the above choice. At first I was hesitant to include him, but I actually felt that the actor did a great job. The guy's not bad looking either.

7) Alistair 3.0: You've no idea how much I kept wanting to put him in one of the top five. He brought a ton of depth and insight into Dean's time in Hell, and I think Christopher did a good job portraying him. But...the voice. It was cool for a little while but then it got annoying. :-( Sorry, Ali.

6) Lilith 3.0: I was gonna use the blonde child for this one because she was creepy and for her age, a great actress. But despite the more grown up Lilith being kind of ugly, I feel Katherine gave her a powerful voice. So, here she be.

5) Crowley: Admittedly, I haven't read Good Omen's yet (it's on my desk right now. I just haven't been in the mood to get into it lately.) but I think he's an interesting character. Obviously high up, kind of gay, and has a different perspective than our average demon. I hope to see him again.

4) Meg 1.0: No top demon list would be complete without Meg, our first active, important demon (with an actual face). Plus Nicki did a kickass job with it. She's number four though because for me personally, she wasn't my favorite. Think it was her voice. Hmm...

3) Crossroads Demon 2.0: Now I know many of you are like, "Wtf, why is she above Meg?!" Well, she may not be for you and that's perfectly okay. But in her one and only scene, I was very struck with how sexualized she was without coming off as trashy.

2) Casey: Yes, even Casey is above Meg for me. I won't lie. A big reason why I liked her was because she was drop dead HOT! But more than that, Sasha was a great actress. I loved her slightly deep voice that gave her that dark edge. I also loved that she actually liked Dean and that she wasn't one of those newb demons just out killing people. Her plan was clever.

1) Azazel 1.0: I just realized he would actually be 2.0 with John playing him first. Oops haha. Oh well, we all know that this guy was awesome no matter who played him, but Fred did it best, bringing in just the right amount of snark to make him totally awesome! And, in my personal opinion, though I LOVE Cas to death, I feel that a big part of the show died with this guy right here. So cheers to the original baddie.
