@TheIndigoEffect However you are right about there being some dumb bidders on ebay. I have seen many items used go for retail or higher prices.

@TheIndigoEffect The problem is there will always be someone practical that will always swoop in to win the auction by putting in a max bid.

You are perfectly correct in your statements about people not knowing how to bid on ebaY. I relish the bidder who jumps in early to open the bidding. He/she is my hero! Not only are they guaranteeing I will sell the item, but odds are it may go for more then or close to retail price. Not too bad for a used item. Yes, of course, buying is a little tougher on ebaY, but think of all the millions that wouldn't get spent without these people. The economy would grind to a halt faster then a Tachyon.
lol bid a cent in the last minute of the auction? I always bid what I am willing to pay. Why? Because best case scenario my lowest bid will win, worst case I will get the item for the price I was willing to pay.

@krypticzisback I've seen people win auctions with low bids. As long as you have the proper auction software, it's possible to outbid someone by a few cents. The difference with your method is that you're being practical, since you know that winning an auction using the method I described isn't probable. On the other hand, I'm being idealistic, describing a method that is economical, but virtually impossible.
