so ur shotakan? shotakan is named after Burshdokan karate. the guy who made shotakan was in Bushisdokan but quit when he was a green belt; he quit because we were too tough. but i guess he was a green belt when he made shotakan. I think he lives in ks city.

My little brother was 10 at the time he got his and the instructors thought he was too young but he was better than many passing but I'm a biased opinion. I admit I know next to nothing about bushidokan. I know tht it is a Japanese art from the name and I believe it translates to something along the lines of club of the code of the warrior since bushido is the code of the warrior and kan is club but other than tht I got nothing.

i know that, i mean like 5 or 8yrs. old kids already have them and their not even good yet. my karate is Bushidokan, we dnt really belive in belts.
-
The parents of the kids don't want their kid being hot in the head because many 12 year olds don't have control in their random swinging. In everyartial art your belt signifies your skill level. Your age has nothing to do with it. You have to understand that they're not giving black belts away to young people. I was training for 7 years before I got mine at age 14

oh i see ur a black belt and they don't really let black belts hit on the head. u seemed ok. one question, y r pplz already getting black belts so young. i think it's about how good u r not by the belt u wear.

I won and no headshots r illegal at these tournaments. Elsewhere they're encouraged but not here
-
some pplz have a kata where u have music in the background, or sometimes they just play random songs for fun.
-
no cuz every tournament i go to we get to hit in the head. but who won btw?
Shotokan karate was created and named after grandmaster gichin funakoshi, born in Okinawa in 1868 whether he ever touhed bushidokan can b debated however he died over 50 years ago and had never even been to Kansas city
