  • @Vitisaurio

it' was way before the 1960's that composers wrote 'sound' pieces. try the early 1900's.

  • @Vitisaurio

sound IS the most important part of any piece of music. i'm very aware of 20th century (21st century) composition techniques. also, i wasn't saying that you need sheet music in front of an ensemble to for it to be legit.

this is 'music'. however, there's nothing to take from it this 'music'. what's the point? this music it NOTHING. i listen to EVERYTHING. what is good about this?

i still can't believe they pay a professor at MIT to teach this.

  • @satinhooks you are wrong.

    1) Sound can be considered as Music.

    2) Since the 60’s till now there are a lot of orchestral stuff writen (“classical” I mean) including improvisation section or even whole pieces writen like that. Which do not needs any use of sheets or score.

    3) H.Lachenmann wrote a lot music for acustic instruments based on the use of Sound, considering sound as music. Check out any of his pieces for ensemble.

  • do any of these laptop orchestras play music?

it seems like every last clip of 'laptop orchestras' performing(if you wanna call it that) are sheets of sound.

don't get me wrong. i LOVE sound, but orchestras don't play sound, they play MUSIC.
