Phil Kane and Peter Grad, the original two members of the Bronx band Vanilla Fudge - they had the name a year before the arrival of the group that became famous with it - in their last group performance together. SInging together since they were 15, they performed at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Conn., in the spring of 1979. Peter purchased the video recorder - the very first portable consumer recorder available to the public - the same day and learned to use and trained the cameraman an hour before the performance. The lineup was: Phil Kane, lead singer, lead guitarist; Peter Grad, lead singer, rhythm guitarist; Marc Lipitz, organist and backup singer; Kerry Kelly, backup singer. Peter continued his career as a journalist, Phil gave up his 15-year dream of becoming a major rock star and joined the U.S. Treasury Department, Marc was a radio producer and also taught in Bronx and Westchester high schools, Kerry's whereabouts are unknown - she left the group shortly after the last performance and has not been seen since.
