the intended useage is for the fence to be in the same place form most cuts, so the kerf can stay pretty constant. You can also putty up the kerf, sand it flat, and start over. Lastly, you can flip the table top.
i like this product but i have one question? When you plunge the circular saw does this leave tram lines in the worksurface? If yes then i would think after daily usage that the work surface would become knackered

It is designed so the saw does cut into the table surface - you adjust the saw accordingly.
The table top itself is replaceable...so after it is cut a bunch - you replace it
