On 25 January, Burns fans worldwide gather to celebrate the birth of Scotland's Bard.
Traditional fare at a Burns Supper is Cock a Leekie soup (a Scottish soup dish of leeks and chicken stock.), Haggis, Neeps, (turnip) and Champit Tatties (mashed potatoes). The sweet is usually Clootie Dumpling (a pudding prepared in a linen cloth or cloot) or Typsy Laird (a Scottish sherry trifle) then Cheeseboard with bannocks (oatcakes) and tea/coffee.

  • George, I don't know what it was about but the "sawing" was very well done. Thanks.

  • Lovely song of Burns - I can remember hearing a Irish type air to his lyrics

of this song once , But maybe that's thats sacrilegious -- lol.... Like it !

Thanks for your comments Jim. I'm not surprised at your statement re: hearing an Irish type air. Many songs seem to find their way back and forth between Scotland and Ireland.
