one of my favorite filmmakers of all time- and he is certainly one of the greatest cinematic geniuses of all time in the same class as Murnau, Wiene, and Orson Welles...I wish he had made many more films.

This man was a visual, photographic and cinematic genius. There is PERHAPS no Buck Rogers, certainly no Star Wars and definitely NO C3-PO!
