excavator loading on tag trailer

22.5 tonn tag trailer withh 22 ton worth of excavator. Hauling this way for years. Put it on the scales, position the excavator so that you have 45000 lbs. on the trailer and about 8000 lbs on the tongue. Load it to the same position every time and all is well. Cuts out the lowboy truck trailer,insurance tags and two trips to the job.

Yeah here it works out to usually 17,000kg on a tandem axle grouping, Front axle with 'skinny' tires and rims 5500kg's. Triples 23,000kg's heaviest front axles I have driven were 7300kg's. Those drop down axle's you guys have in the 'State's and in Ontario and Quebec are illegal on the Prairie's and in B.C., The Yukon and the NWT. Don't why but that's how it works.

@bert26a yeah 50,600 lbs on a tandem (10 wheel) configuration, now add a 7000 lb. drop axle and your legal to 69,600.....what sense does that make?

How many speeds is your transmission

I have a 30,000Ib Wheel Loader just wandering if a fuller 10 speed is good enough to pull it around. What do you think?
