Don't be fooled into the notion that having more 'clay' tools is going to make you better. Discover the tools around you! You can use anything for creating art.

The best tools that you can get, you have already...YOUR HANDS. Anyways, quick run-through of the tools I use, and what you can use to improvise.

Not mentioned in the video, some other things that are fun to use for sculpting:
-chop sticks
-metal and plastic knives
-sand paper (texture)

  • I haven't used a butter knife to cut my clay since i played with playdoh when i was a kid haha :)

  • @BagiClaymations hahaha...this is true. I remember doing the same thing. But when I talk about using a knife, I mean for precision stuff. You can use a butter knife for things.

  • So true! The best tools are often the things you find lying around. My favorite is the pointy end of a Bic pen cap. And, (I'm so ashamed) I like using a butter knife! ;o)

  • @TheBabbleBeast Ah, I see. No worries, I used a butter knife for a few things, but I was mainly talking about precision cuts.

  • @sgtjlopez Yup, gotcha. Still, you'd be amazed what I can do with a butter knife! :o)
