For some internal training I wanted to highlight the importance of Java on the technology industry and the world, so I decided to do this brief history of Java and JDBC movie. My first Google search turned up a history timeline from Sun Microsystems (http://www.java.com/en/javahistory/) and so that was used as the basis for the movie.

Java Junkies Enjoy!

  • What program did you use to produce the film?.

I love the music, fits very well with the video. Where did you get this?. Is yours the voice of the story?

    A very professional job, congratulations!

  • Thanks! I used iMovie that comes on my Macbook to make the movie, and the sound was done in GarageBand. It is my voice doing the speaking as well - all on the macbook!

  • Very nicely done... I feel sorry for people who don't feel a drive to understand and appreciate the technology blossoming into reality around us. Machines are our kindred beings in their infancy of existence, imbued with our art and knowledge, shortcomings and dreams, and someday they will walk beside us. Thanks for a great video on these exciting times.

  • Was those programs you used to produce this film written in Java? xD

Nice vid! I had no idea that Java is in mars also!

  • Awesome, din't imagined that!

  • Washburn is a faggot.

  • Great video. That's awesome that NASA trusted JAVA enough to be on the Rover. Too bad windows can't say the same thing.

  • And then Python came along...

  • Java is d best...

  • Will Java be replaced by some other language which is more user friendly and intuitive to use?

  • Why is the passage of time measured by what comes out in the media

Who fucking cares when "Who wants to be a Millionaire" premiered in the UK?

And WTF is this at 1:40?
