Lawrence Gray is one of the most talented, popular and promising artists in Malta. He is rightly known as "The Man with the Golden Voice".

The video of Gethsemane together with "You Are My Lover", written by Geoff Morrow (co-author of Can't Smile Without You" and "There's a Whole Lot of Loving"), was sent as an audition to the BBC for the programme "Your Country Needs You". In this programme the act for the United Kingdom for Eurovision 2009 in Moscow (Russia) was chosen. The 6 acts chosen for the programme were:- The Twins (Francine and Nicola), Jade Ewen, Damien, Charlotte, Mark and Emperors of Soul (Julian, Gerod, Leon, Leroy and Fraser). Jade won and will be representing the United Kingdom with "My Time".
Lawrence Gray took part in the Malta Song for Europe 6 times and was always one of the finalists. He came twice 2nd with: The Right Time & Why not., once 3rd and twice 4th.
Lawrence took part and won awards at various festivals. These are some of his awards:-
Winner of the F.I.D.O.F award (1998) for Most promising artist in the International festival of Maltese Song.
"Best Male Singer" and "Best International Voice" at the International festival "Voice of Asia" (1999) in Kazakhstan with "Dont Ask Me Why".
Best Male Singer in the Malta Music Awards (2001).
2nd in an international festival Universetalent in Prague (2001) with "A Song in My Life".
Winner of the Malta Independence Festival (2002) with "L-Ghazla F'Idejna" (The Choice is in Our Hands).
Winner of the International Maltese Song Festival (2002) with "Eklissi" (Eclipse).
Winner of the F.I.D.O.F award (2002) for his "outstanding performance" on stage of the International Festival of Maltese Song 2002.
"Most Popular Foreign Artist" at the 111 International Music Festival Zrenjanin, Jugoslavia (2002) with "What Happened to Our Love".
"BEST WORLD SINGER of 2002" - Award given by the website www.mainhill.wallst.ru/eurovision/2003/m al.htm
2nd at the International festival "Voice of Asia" (2003) in Kazakhstan with "Meant to Be".
"Best Performer" and "Best Voice" at the International festival "Voice of Asia" (2003) in Kazakhstan.
"Best Promoted Foreign Artist" in Cyprus (2003) - Award given by Radio Magic 102.2 FM (Cyprus).
Awarded gold disc for "Why Not" by Radio Magic 102.2 FM (Cyprus).

Over the years, Lawrence Gray has taken part in various television programmes and has sung duets with other Maltese artists, including Chiara who came 2nd with "Angel" in 2005 and 3rd with "The One That I Love" in 1998, at Eurovision and who will represent Malta again with "What if We", and also with Kevin Borg who won the Swedish Pop idol in December 2008, with the songs "With Every Bit of Me", "Living on a Prayer" and "You're the Voice".
I believe greatly in Lawrence Gray's talent and voice. If Lawrence were living in England, he would be able to take part in programmes like the X factor, Btitains Got Talent, Pop Idol and Any Dream Will Do. He would certainly wow the judges and be discovered as Leona Lewis, Connie Talbot (age 6), Paul Potts, Alexandra Burke, Susan Boyle, Shaheen Jafargholi, Jamie Pugh, George Sampson, Faryl Smith, Will Young, Gareth Gates, Connie Fisher & Lee Mead were discovered. I hope that some day he will be discovered by somebody like Simon Cowell, Clive Davis, David Foster, Cameron Mackintosh or LLoyd Webber.
Lawrence Gray has a tenor's voice and has often been compared to great tenors like those in il Divo, Mario Lanza and Bocelli.
