On April 6, 2008, Free Tibet activists scaled the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. In a heroic act, three climbers from Students for a Free Tibet sent a clear message to China: Tibet belongs to Tibetans. Campaigners are urging Prime Minister Hu Jintao to open dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama to work towards a peaceful resolution of the emergency in Tibet. Human rights activists have engaged in a series of direct nonviolent actions around the world to protest the Olympic Torch Relay through Tibet to the top of Mount Everest. The Tibetan People have called for a boycott of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics until China improves its human rights abuses of Tibetans. One world, one dream—Free Tibet now.
