The US should be very concerned about the growth of China. Stupid thing is that we are committing economic suicide by sending so many jobs to China, our natural nemesis, all in the name of greedy "capitalism". It goes to show you that the US can be bought and only cares about money. The natural effects is that we are building up an enemy superpower. How could we be so blind? I encourage all Americans to boycott Chinese made goods and cutoff their means of income.

Mainland Chinese Population=1/4 world pop'

Overseas Chinese population=1/6 world pop'

Approximately 1/2 world's pop = Chinese

If USA boycott Chinese products, it will end up 1/2 world population boycotting USA products. While China can survive on its own, because b4 she joined WTO, China was always self-contained, self-manufacturing & self-trade. Chinese can survive without establishing foreign relationship! @Rocketeer1001 Governments don't always have the interest of their citizens as their top priority. Sometimes they would choose the interests of rich multi-million corporations over the interests of ordinary people because the corporations provide them with funds that tax payers don't have, this is why governments would implement protectionist policies even though it has total negative economic surplus at the expense of the consumers.

Government implement tariffs to protect their domestic industries at the expense of domestic consumers. Why? Because they give a shit about the multi-million dollars corporations that fund their governments (bribes) and they don't give a shit about the ordinary citizens who most likely aren't educated enough to know that tariffs is actually hurting their consumer surplus (like you).
