  • Also....especially in high-wattage incadenscents, like 100-watt....do not let those bulbs be exposed directly to the cool misty water of your cool mist humidifier. The water in that could waft all the way to the very hot light bulb, cause parts of the bulb glass to fail and cause the bulb's oxygen gases to rapidly expand from the strong temperature difference of the cool water...and cause the bulb to explode.
