There's a reason why Microsoft lost this case. Essentially, it boiled down to the fact that even though it would have been easy to do otherwise they created an operating system that would only run their internet browser. By so doing, they attempted to monopolize an industry. What I find interesting is that many people think Gates is "smart" for the subtle contempt he shows for the government's lawyer. In reality, Gates comes across as quibbling and being obstructive. He didn't help himself.
