http://www.FauquierENT.net - This video demonstrates how non-sedated ABR (auditory brainstem response), BAER (brainstem auditory evoked response), OAE (otoacoustic emission) testing is performed. Traditionally, such testing required being absolutely still and quiet. This often mandated sedation in small children given their lack of cooperation. Non-sedated ABR/OAE/BAER testing can now be performed without sedation. The patient is even allowed to eat, read, stand, and even walk around without affecting the results.

Can you tell me what brand equipment you use? Our facility uses a Viviosonic, and we are not totally pleased with its' battery life and interference issues. With the Viviosonic, our patient must remain still and totally quiet to acheive an accurate reading without artifact- We would LOVE to allow our patient's to walk around and munch while screening is being performed! thank you in advance......kathy P.
