A method of finding your favorite single malt scotch whiskey by tasting pairs of scotches. In this case, a scotch from the Light Flowers group and a scotch from the sherry group.

  • Really great video. I just tried my first scotch (and made a video about it) today. Is it easy to find the small bottles of scotch like you did for the macallan? I would like to try a bunch, but I don't really need a huge bottle like I bought of my 12 year sherry oak.

  • Sadly, the small bottles aren't easy to get. I looked to see if I could get all my examplars in the small bottle form, and I found a site that sells small bottles, but only the largest distillers do the tiny bottles. I have many bottles of scotch that I don't really drink myself, but it's nice to have for friends to try.

  • I agree that the glasses are inappropriate for really appreciating the smell, but I needed a small glass to concentrate the color for my little camera. If you're trying at home, use a bigger glass that exposes more of the scotch to the air, preferably one with a mouth that closes down a little to help trap some of the vapors.

  • Some people have told me they think it may be an unfair comparison, because of the price difference. In general, the sherry group is more expensive, so that's harder to do, and I do find some people prefer the Glen Moray, particularly people with less experience drinking scotch.

  • Interesting and helpful review. Just to let you know that the second word in Glen Moray is pronounced Murry. This whisky is produced in a part of Scotland known as Moray and is where the surname Murray originated.

  • Maybe you've only had crappy scotch in the past.

  • I hate scotch I don't know why .

  • Very good review, clean crisp to the point. Well Done! Cheers thanks for posting
