this is a short clip i made to show a Comp Cams "xtreme Hi-Lift" camshaft (XE275HL) and Twin 2.5 inch exhaust through and out a pair of Hooker AERO CHAMBER's in my 318 Chrysler 318 powered 1941 Willys

i made this clip to help others get an idea on how the Comp Cam Xtreme Hi-Lift cam sounds through Hooker mufflers.

  • although I ordered Aero chambers for my 383 stroker, they don't seem to be too popular of a muffler. From my research they seem to flow better than most of what is out there. Are you happy with the way they sound both at an idle and highway cruise?

  • very happy with them, this video does not do them justice as it was shot the garage and so the true sound is hindered by the reverberation inside the shed, in the driveway is a whole different story, very deep sounding, as far as highway cruising goes, its not registered yet and the only time its been in the street is to do go and do a 3 point turn to turn the car around and drive it in to the garage, but the short burst down the street brought out the nieghbours to see what was happening.

if i have the alarm on in my "every day car" & start the rod next to it & give it a rev it sets the alarm off it also makes the windows & glass sliding door on our house vibrate as i reverse down past the side of the house out onto the street,

    All that & from a "little" 318 (+.040 over = 324cu/in)

plus you having an extra 59 cubes more than me, you'll be "Deeper" sounding guaranteed

i think aero chambers are still "undiscovered" & will gain popularity.

i am sure you will be happy

  • @rileymclean454 I have aero chambers on my nova with a 496 and love them way better than any flowmasters I have ever run, and I have run alot of 2 chamber 40 series and I had a set of super 40s on my small block 358 I have videos of the on my channel if you want to check them out

  • also thats at the engine too not the wheels

  • @hot318 You know I will!

  • @hot318 (ran out of room!)

still got to get it on a roll on dyno, cant wait.

lets just say they're "slightly" modified cast irons.. you know, port matched, pocket ported ect, couldnt afford alloys at the time but looking back at what we ended up spending i could have gone alloys :-/

425hp is based on results from another 318 engine of the EXACT same specs and using a 850 holley, i am running a 600 for the street, i'll go 850 later.

we may get a little less or it MIGHT punch out a few more, can only hope to match it.

  • 425hp is a tough little 318. What heads is it running?

  • @joseph299
