i have a 1994 ford explorer, are the 4.0L V6 motors good for 4x4ing?

Depends what you want to do. They make a lot of torque at low RPMs and I feel when coupled with low gears they make good engine for rock crawling. Without a supercharger they are HP limited so they aren't great in deep gooey mud.

low-end Torquey as hell 4.0 Cologne. They just don't make engines liek taht anymore.

Excellent stuff. I've been on the Exploreform. I have a 97 Ranger 9" lift. 35's. broke the driveshaft out of it, it's getting sold, being given to us is a 98 Explore. Runs and drives well. Stock.

@rickhz I have a 97 with the 5.0L. With that body style, around how much would it be just to lift it 4 or 5 inches with changing too much, and if there would be any changing what would it be?
