Obviously there is a music taliban out there dictating what tempo should be played by a given piece. It is a pity that - not unlike the real taliban - they are not willing, or incapable, to give sound arguments for their judgements. It's just "too fast". Well, the excrement of a bull on laxatives is just "too fast".

By whose standards? About 600 people in that hall obviously had no problem with it. And I'm convinced old Fritz himself wouldn't have minded. The piece allows one that much freedom. I've heard it played even faster.
