  • Workers evereywhere are proud and in awe of you all for what you did. You showed that despite the tories calling it "unsustainable", the miners could succeed where the fat cats wouldn't, you ran it not just for your pay, but for the good of the community. Worker-owned industries can sustain us in everything we need. Get the overpaid and the greedy out of the way, and a better way is possible.

    Salt of the earth.

  • The best people who ever lived.

  • south wales miners were and always will be special people this is why paul robeson loved them.dont let them take away your community spirit my grandfather was italian he came to south wales to work in the mines and was killes in the senghenydd mining disaster in 1912 i believe.i am cardiff born and bred but i have a very strong affection for the south wales mining community as the song says we shall overcome someday.

  • My husband worked in Tower when it closed and it was a sad day for us all. People will never now the real reasons why it was closed. Poor management and many idiots closed this colliery far earlier than it should. Respect to all miners of this great place.
