Bach - Prelude No 1 from The Well Tempered Clavier

JS Bach's Prelude Number 1 from the Well Tempered Clavier (BWV 846). I had a hard time selecting a tempo for this piece. I have heard enjoyable performances of it that were ploddingly slow and blisteringly fast. I chose somewhere in between.

I have received several requests for information about the version of this piece I am playing. It is transcribed by Carlo Carfagna and I purchased it at http://www.guitargallerymusic.com/index.php The product number is 564001000.

Isn't this called Ave Maria?

Yes and no. Bach wrote this prelude first. It is my understanding that Charles Gounod later used the prelude as an accompaniment to Ave Maria.

Bravo ! One of my favorites by Bach ,it rarely sounds satisfactory on the guitar but you succeeded brilliantly in this rendition .
