Windhoek, Namibia
I wrote this song after my house was robbed and a lot of my things were stolen (read about it here: http://rungloriarun.blogspot.com/2012/01/reflections-on-being-robbed.html). I realized that I was thankful to still have the things that they didn't take. The experience helped me also appreciate the kindness of people around me. Alex lent me a guitar, Andrew lent me the laptop, Shaun gave me the shirt I'm wearing in this video, and my partner gave me his moral support all the way from Canada. Thanks everyone.
I'm in a band called Scary Bear Soundtrack:

SAFE ACROSS THE SEA
i thought i was ready to go back
things were still the way they left my flat
closet forced open and emptied
clothes scattered, sheets ripped off the mattress
i can't bring myself though i try
to clean the mess they left behind
but they didn't take the ring that you gave to me
and i still have my memories
and i still have you waiting for me, safe across the sea
the cop asks what did they take
do i recall what stood in that empty space
the guitar that i played to sing about you
the camera that caught my moments with you
the laptop that brought me close to you
what do i do
but they didn't take the ring that you gave to me
and i still have my memories
and i still have you waiting for me, safe across the sea
i made posters listing all i've lost
i drop by every single pawn shop
dear stranger, i'm sorry life has led you
to make the choices you now choose
but i'm going to follow you in your tracks
i'm going to go and get it all back
because you didn't take the ring that he gave to me
and i still have my memories
and i still have him waiting for me, safe across the sea
eff, I miss you.
