IN 1967 I HIRED FRANK ZAPPA FOR $2,000 TO DO THE SOUND TRACK FOR THIS ANIMATED TV COMMERCIAL THAT I WAS ANIMATING AND PRODUCING. IT WON A CLIO AWARD FOR "BEST USE OF SOUND." IT WAS THE BEGINNING OF A TWO YEAR RELATIONSHIP THAT HAD ME FILMING 14 HOURS OF FOOTAGE TO BE USED FOR A FILM HE CALLED "UNCLE MEAT".

That's an incredible combination of music and visuals, and a mandatory stop for those who dismiss Zappa's more "random" works. This is brilliant, and quite mesmerising.
No, it isn't. StinkyWhizzletooth is a combination of Burl Ives samples and the creator of the show imitating Burl Ives. FZ only voiced "The Pope" in the Powdered Toast Man episode.
And I'm telling you that my father worked with Frank for over a decade and that he still keeps contact with those close to Frank and that THEY say Frank never did anything more for the Ren and Stimpy show then the Pope's voice. That is why I worded my original comment that I wasn't sure, then worded my second comment that I was absolutely sure. I looked into it.
stardark, that rumour has been going around since the episode aired, because of Zappa's affiliation with the show and because many artists do uncredited voice work on cartoons. It does sound A LOT like Frank in certain parts, but I think that's just the California Red Lands intonation that Frank shared with the shows creators.
