  • CRACK IN THE WORLD will be on DVD in the US at the end of July!

Great comment about the BP spill. Why on Earth don't this lot just tap a volcano?

  • This is one of those movies that would get played on a UHF

station at 2 in the morning and if you saw it, it would stick with

you for the rest of your life. Especially with that music.

You'll hear the word MAGMA more times in this movie than in

    any other in history.

    Excellent clip-- thanks for posting

  • Call me nuts but I enjoyed this cheesy movie many many times.

  • So glad the BLU Ray has now been Cracked.

  • @blindandwatching

Is now but the movie is over 40 years old so maybe they did not know as much back then.

By the way the DVD is great so much better than my bootleg copy.

  • @SpookyKitaro I Iceland, they have used geothermal energy for decades. Imagine Mankind ripping the very Earth under his feet with Thermonuclear Weaponry, used unrestrainedly! That is the warning of the film, i a sciencey-fictiony concept.

  • Man, I used to--and STILL--love the hell outta this flick. Its a shame that "Crack In The World"/"Magma", "The Colossus Of New York" and "Day Of The Triffids" never got a proper DVD release (there ARE "Triffids" DVDs, but they are all sub-par). Eugene Lourie did some things with miniatures that only rivaled Tsuburaya-sensei at his peak (see "Krakatoa", and THIS flick). Plus, the music will hit you in your chest and stay there (especially if you first saw this as a kid, long ago).

  • Movie rather prophetic in regards to what is happen with BP. Listening to the scientific jargon including caps, shafts and so forth along with total abandonment to logic because of money, I hope the BP incident in the Gulf of Mexico does not have a similar conclusion as this movie! The whole movie can be seen under Google videos.

  • Looks like they tried to nuke an oil gushing volcano and hit magma!

  • @tuttt99 Done in a 1950s style outdatedness

  • MAGMA!!!!!

  • @alan8653

Dramatic Licence. The old "Captain going down with the ship" motif.
