  • you remind me of a friend i met while i was in the U.S. i called him trailer Bob, i lost touch with him since i moved back to Scotland, thank you for your videos

  • @dragoon414 actually from the biblical perspective there are many passages that clearly point out that all creatures have a soul or in the Hebrew text, a "nephesh"

  • a soul is eternal. It cannot perish, thats why when we die our soul goes to heaven or hell. however the spirit is not eternal , and it will die. Our spirit is basically what allows us to use our bodies, to breathe, walk, etc etc. The soul is truly who we are.

  • @ShamahElim I love your video man but im sorry to say that only humans have souls, all other animals have spirits only.

  • @ShamahElim YES!! You are so right man! GOD BLESS!

  • Crass, Crass, as proved by the abundant Scriptural evidence we have presented in these comments, the spiritual essence of man was NOT invented by Augustine or any other human. It was declared by God Himself throughout Scripture, and all the books in Scripture were written at least 300 years before Augustine was ever on the scene. Therefore, what Augustine may or may not have said is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what the Spirit of God declares in Scripture.

  • Crass, Genesis 2:7 says that man BECAME a living soul. That is the only Biblical "evidence" you have to claim that man is, in essence, a soul. However, the book of John also states that the Word BECAME flesh (John 1:14). Does that mean that the Word was flesh in essence? Obviously not! Genesis 2:7 is only depicting an initial stage of man's development; it is not describing his very essence.

  • Crass, this comment has nothing to do with the basic question of whether man is in essence a mere soul, as you anti-Biblically claim (as shown by the overwhelming evidence we have presented you with). This comment only emphasises the fact that both animals and humans have souls. It is thus irrelevant.

  • God urges you to read the rest of the comments and to meditate and pray over them for a few days before even thinking about replying. As the Lord declares in Psalm 119, you must learn to MEDITATE on His word. The soul is prone to "natural reactions" to God's word. The spirit prefers to be shaped and moulded by it. If you continue to see yourself as a "soul in essence" and refuse to recognise your spirit component, you will never grow into the mature spirit that God is calling you to be.

  • If you take time to read the rest of the comments (as you should have before responding to the first one), you will realise that the Gen. passage you quoted is referring to the BEGINNING of man in his growth process. As we shared below, 1 Cor 15:45 delineates the growth path that God intended for man: from a living soul (the 1st Adam) to a life-giving Spirit (the last Adam), like a baby that is born a "dependent" being (a life-RECEIVER) and grows to become an "independent " adult (a life-GIVER).
