actually no, it the red arremer from the ghouls and ghosts series (is very similar but is not the same, firebrand from demon crest is a little bit different, also the attacks of the red arremer are monsters from the ghouls and ghost series)

You have to defeat all the characters back to back in Survival Mode then you get to fight Athena. If you beat her then you unlock her and get to fight Red Arremer. If you beat him then you unlock him to. Survival Mode has a set difficulty that cannot be changed. I used the guy that has the tornado attack, he has the best exceed move I think. I forgot his name though. Good luck.
