  • she died so young...65 is young nowadays

  • You really don't get that special combination of style, beauty and class these days in Hollywood. Donna Reed personified each of these qualities. We'll miss you Donna.

  • I wish I had her as my wife and then mother. So I can experience life with both.

  • In :Wonder Life: Donna ages from 18, to 40, maybe even 45. So,she played both younger and older than her actual age of 25.

  • Donna is among angels now

  • QUIET ELEGANCE!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BigDickMcGirk I read this and cracked up! Geddes did have a LOT of annoying qualities as Miss Ellie. She always made these hideous mouth gestures that reminded me of that female monkey doctor on Planet of the Apes. Jock, Clayton, Sue Ellen, Teresa or hell, even John Ross should have smacked her when she started making that face. And why the hell didn't someone take her to Jenna's botique to buy some decent clothes for Christ sakes!? I sure she could "scrounge" up the money for more than a sack.

  • She was a far better actress than her replacement, Babs Geddes. She made me believe she was a rich woman instead of a frump in a sack dress. And no annoying quirks like pronouncing names like Pam instead of BBG's way of PAAAAAAMMMM.

  • @defundthewar Interesting. I have to agree with DR - they 'did' give her 'monster lighting' and BBG looked bad, no matter what the reason(s) were when she originally left.

  • @bluenail03 I don't know if this is true or showbiz lore, but I read that Mary Martin either asked for or auditioned for the role of Larry Hagman's mother, but Hagman nixed it because "she was not the type." !!!

  • @defundthewar Yep - it was very sad how badly she was treated for her final acting role.

  • I wish i had a girl like donna
