This song really encompasses a lot of important aspects of the song.

This is about friends living at the turn of the millennium.
In the late 90's, they unfortunately had a more gentrified, trendy, religious, neo-conservative America to look forward to, even if they didn't know it.

Now THIS is the only stage performance of Rent I'm willing to see. There's an O-Br revival going on, but I heard it's really bad. The actors don't have a grasp on the characters at all.

When I turned six I was exposed to this musical, didn't pay too much attention until I was eleven. The motion picture came out 2005 I was 14 at the time, I bought the soundtrack.
