I met Vern In the Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama, where I was working, he had a hell of a sense of humor, gave me a card and invited me to his bar up around Armore.... for the life of me I can't remember the name... to many beers ago.

Vern was one of a kind, they haven't made them like him for a long time now. Country music is the worse for it. Very few have the right to call themselves "Country Stars" and the current crop of would-be so called stars proves it. R.I.P. Vern we miss you.
