She totally deserved this Oscar, even if it was a consolation prize for not being nominated for Of human bondage 1 year prior

  • I will always love Bette Davis!♥

  • Eve, this! Eve, that!! Anne Baxter fucked her chances!!! Get over it!!! However, she totally deserved that Oscar!!

  • Where was her Oscar for "All about Eve","Of Human Bondage" and "What ever happened to baby Jane?

    Imo,AFI has the #1 and #2 actresses backwards !

  • the best

  • I love Bette. But this award is considered the first "holdover" Oscar for her not have won for "Of Human Bondage" in 1934. The Oscar this year should have definitely gone to Katharine Hepburn for "Alice Adams". Hepburn won four Oscars, but none were for her greatest performances.

  • @EJperfection Oh, so yu must see it! It is one of the greatest films and Ms. Swanson is glorious in it! And yes, unfortunately we don¨t decide :-)

  • @Etheline Oh! I didn't see Ms. Swanson movie yet! :( (my mom said is good) but i do believe that Bette deserved for All about Eve for the simply fact that is one of the most greatest character (and interpretation) in film history! But hey! we are not the ones who deside right? :(

  • @EJperfection It was a huge role and ver well done! But I couldn't choose between Bette and Gloria - her Norma Desmond was dreamy, too! I'd vote for an Oscar for Bette in 1962 for Baby Jane, in spite of I LOVE Anne Bancroft and her Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker

  • Thank you soo much for sharing this!

  • @Etheline We can't forget All about Eve! She deserved for taht one too.
