Sheffield 2011 - Mens Foil Team final - France 28 Italy 45 PART 1

The Italians sailed through the match but the victory was tarred by some controversy and quite a few yellow/red cards. In fact you could have mistaken it for a briscola or poker game.

At one point in the fourth period Cassara' allegedly bumped into the opponent (of course I missed it!!) and the judges nearly black carded him, but after a long consultation process, during which the incident (I am told) kept being replayed on the big screen and at which the crowed booed, they only opted for a red. Of course I was too busy filming the referees to notice the incident being replayed on the screen so you won't see any of that. How slack of me! Profuse apologies.

I think the incident was also mimicked by Barry Paul and Johnny Davies during the match set up at the end of the championships to entertain the flamingo troups (can be seen here http://www.youtube.comwatch?v=eFj_vO5fgdg).

All in all a good match to watch I would say!

Does anyone know what the commotion is all about between Cassara and Guyart at 23.19? It looks like Guyart refuses to shake his hand.
