It's going to be passed before Christmas people! wake up!

This may be one of the reasons why Canada sees so little corruption: their citizens take action, instead of sitting around and blaming everyone.

Even though I'm American, this is still a concern to me.

you know whats ironic bout this copyright video, its on a site that carefully looks at people and puts a block on a video cuz it has copyright! I have created this account so that we can take a stand on youtube copyright! Its not like a 15 year old or 13 year old girl can take a video use a song and think that they are making money off of it, They aren't look at the money there looking at the view and how popular they'll become!

Yes, exactly. Under the new proposed bill, any item with a digital lock on it (like DVDs) would trump any other right. It would simply be illegal to copy the data. This includes buying a physical CD and putting it on your iPod, etc.

This doesn't just affect students. It affects almost everyone - everyone who enjoys movies, television shows, music, pictures, comics, books, software, or artistic works of any kind. In effect, everyone. EVERYONE should be concerned about this.

"Conservatives have sold out to American corporate interests yet again"
And what do the "opposition"? They want to broaden the perspective of a hardware tax to not only include CDs but iPod and mp3 players... so that people who listened to CC-licensed music in the first place would have to start funding the music industry if they so little as have the hardware capable of containing copyrighted material.

Go you guys!!!!
Fantastic video. I wish more people would take an interest in this issue.
It would be nice if the government would actually listen to the results of last year's copyright consultations, and do what the people of Canada actually want.
Instead, the Conservatives have sold out to American corporate interests yet again.

Why doesn't the US do that? They spend so much time pointing fingers while the real criminals (the corporations) get away.
