A couple of people have asked "why do I wrap the hair around my finger before putting the hair onto the tool?"

The answer is that the wrap / loop makes a little knot on the prongs, giving a little extra security, however, once it is pushed into the head and released, it springs back open so I guess in theory, you dont *need* to wrap the hair around your finger first.

I haven't tried without, thats just the way I have always done it! lol

http://www.mylittlecustoms.com Better quality video planned soon, however, for the time being, I hope this helps! ^_^

~ just a quick note to let you all know that I no longer run the mylittlecustoms website, however, these tutorials will be staying online and I am happy to still answer any question you guys have about rerooting! Robin xx

  • Brilliant tutorial, well filmed well done. Do yoo know where I would buy a small needle from for a Pippa Doll? Also is hair fron the beauty shops ok to use? Many thanks from Dave.

  • @looselywired you should be able to find a small needle at any good haberdashery shop :) As for hair from beauty shops, it is ok for practice however, the quality is lower and will be harder to style on your Pippa if you choose to reroot her with it :) It is not "wrong" to use the hair from extensions, just the quality is far below the quality of good doll hair. :)

  • Could you make a tutorial on how to reroot a doll's head, but using curly hair please?

  • @BrokenDollDreams the same method of using a reroot tool for normal straight hair also works really well for curly hair! Just go slowly and carefully as you don't want to end up with a birdsnest hairstyle full of messy curls!!

    Good luck :)

  • hey what kind of glue do you use after you are done rerooting?

  • @mhscarahscreams Fabri-Tac, E6000, AppliGlue ... any glue which dries clear and flexible :) The three brands I have mentioned are great as they are also water resistant up to 40 degrees which is perfect for when you wash and style the hair :)

Do not use any permenant glues (like super glue) though as that can damage the vinyl after a while.
