@TelescopeAtNight Cool video. I guess it was made with cooled version. What scope did you use? (Aperture and F speed). Is the output BNC composite video? Is digital output with a frame grabber? About the integration time you say "soon to be infinite with our own software". How can it be done without USB port? And how soon? What about a remote control? I think a wired menu keypad is indispensabile.

Thanks for sharing !! Cheers

Nice, but what is the cost of the CCD camera?

what "you don't need guiding or a motorised mount" how would it create a image with a newt/dob when the real image is drifting in the ep?

@redshift40 With an unguided telescope the total time for the integrations is far below the time when you would notice star trails. For an unmotorised mount, this would only be true for short focal lengths (low zoom). The resulting recording would be very much like a planetary recording with it slowly moving across the FoV. So long as the star trailing isnt visible within 5 seconds, then it will be fine. Good question, I should reword this in the next video.

@TelescopeAtNight - I see thanks. It would work then with a newt/dob on a motorized EQ. platform. I've always wanted to sit inside and watch it live on my big screen.

@redshift40 Yes, certainly. The camera also has analogue and digital output, so you can hook up to a TV or a PC. With unmotorised scopes, the JTW Messier is particularly suited to large and/or fast scopes. If you have even basic tracking (clock drive), then you are fine with any size scope. The camera is under a 30 day no questions asked return policy anyway, so there is no risk for anyone wanting to see with their own eyes just how powerful the JTW Messier is.
