Mega Man 9 - Jewel Man's Stage

Out of all the stages in Mega Man 9, I'd probably say this is the most bland one. The lack of much in the background makes it seems rather lifeless, and even the swinging platform gimmick doesn't make too exciting. It's still fun to play, but just doesn't quite live up to the other levels.

I personally think Mega Man 9's one of the best things to happen to the gaming industry in a long time. Maybe if it's really successful other companies will make some older style games too! There's some game series that really could use a trip back to their roots.

Jewel Man is also a really pitiful boss when you have his weakness. Black Hole Bomb sucks the shield right off of him and inflicts a lot of damage. All you need to know is, Jewel Man only jumps when you jump, but, he'll always jump as high as he can, even if you just do a tiny hop. Use this to your advantage to dodge him consistently.

The funny thing about newer game stations that allow for downloads of old games (Wii with Nintendo games) is that people are playing those just as much, if not more then all of the new games. Reasons: actually fun, they aren't just about the graphics, well-written storylines, simpler to play, etc. I think most games care too much about graphics and not on the most impacting elements like gameplay and fun.

Retro games had been making a comeback in general even before this came out. Mega Man 9's success will only mean the furthering of that. Nice to see the games of my youth becoming relevant again.
