The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust raises young orphaned African Elephants. The elephants are brought from where they are found in Kenya or Tanzania to the orphanage where keepers are with them 24 hours a day raising them. Eventually they are released back to the wild.
The public can see the elephants once a day at the 11 am feeding time. The elephants get a special formula and are allowed to play in a small pool.
