This was my third run at the Smokin' 09 diesel event in White Plains, GA. The truck put down 559 horsepower and 1104 foot lbs. Once again there were no major upgrades. Just a tune, delete pipe, intake, EGR block off plates, and a Suncoast direct solenoid.

  • 08stroker250 how does your stock tranny seem to like that spartan tune. You think it will hold that for many miles?

  • It likes it just fine for the most part. Matt at Spartan increases the line pressure a pretty good amount to keep the converter from slipping like crazy. I have been running the 275 tune for over 25,000 miles, and the 310 tune for probably 8,000 miles now.

  • I have a 6.4 and ran a sct 160hp dpf delete for 10000 miles then switched to a 275 Spartan for 25000 then the tranny blew out. I cant complain i took it to the drag strip multiple times and used it to tow 14,000 pound trailers on a regular basis. Im suprised it lasted so long any ways haha

  • @rzrdwt08, that is pretty sad that you managed to blow out your tranny with the 275. I have been running the 275 and 310 for 43,000 miles now and my tranny has been olding up fine. I have sled pulled, made passes at the track, been on the dyno numerous times, and done numerous boosted launches and burn outs.

  • Impressive

  • Thank you!

  • @Xx69roadrunnerxX my bad i was thinking about the 2011 trans 6r140 the 6.4 liters are F5r110

  • @studdgage Also, there is no such thing as a "6R110".

  • @studdgage Nope. Ford used the 5R110 5-speed automatic from 2003-2010 behind the 6.0L and 6.4L Powerstroke diesels. In 2011 when Ford debuted its new in house designed 6.7L Powerstroke diesel they also debuted their new 6R140 6-speed automatic transmission. 6R140= 2011 to present.

  • @Xx69roadrunnerxX i believe its the 6r110 in the 6.4 liters

  • @rzrdwt08 rudy has been running the stock tranny for a long time on some of his trucks with the 310 tune and nitrous they trans are actually built very well there factory rating is for 1400 lbs of tq stock.

  • @08stroker250 Ya but I also had a bully dog on it for about 15,000 miles so the tranny actually let go at some where around 50,000miles.. its just a matter of time for you but cant complain when you can blow almost anything away in a 8,000 pound truck lol

  • the 6.4 and the 7.3 powerstrokes are the best

  • Very impressive, 5R110 arent cheap by any means.
