How come I cannot see videos on mine, y select them like you did from the ipod and they only show like a regular song and I can listen to it but cannot see it.

@dobermankid or ground the parking brake cable.. hope this helps!

@dobermankid yes like dobe said if u dont have the pac then u can only operate the advance sound options when the handbrake is engaged. you sometimes might have to press the break while the handbrake is on as well to get the menu.

@MrReiske if it says BT then it has built in bluetooth, there is also the ixa-w407 which is identical but doesn't have the built in bluetooth. the bluetooth generally works ok but some can be tempremental. for example, it refuses to sync with a fone until you delete it and add it again

the interface on this is garbage and alpine don't offer any upgrade. it's not very responsive and once you select a track say on a playlist, if you want to go back to the playlist, you will have to start from scratch, good luck turning the volume up or down or mute while youre driving if you don't have the controls on your stearing wheel. very poor. the only thing the iXA–W407BT has going for it is that it looks cool. I must say alpine are all hype and I won't be buying their product again.

How's this compare to the newer Alpine iDA-X305SBT? I found a deal on this W407, but it's getting a little age on it and don't want to buy an outdated model. :(

@dobermankid Check your parking brake, or bypass it with a PAC tr-7

@.SoundManCarAudio or any owners of this unit -- I noticed unlike the W502 or W505, iPods and iPhones must be connected through USB instead of iPod specific line. Normally on other units this means a slower response when you go to control the iPod from the LCD. Does it happen with the W407 or is the response speed adequate or just as fast as a iPod line ?
