A easy explanation of how the Michaelis Menton equation is derived and why it was derived like this. This is key for understanding clinical enzymology, and for calculating rates of reactions.

  • Hey thanks very much for the positive feedback! I'm glad I was able to help out! I am going to work on the second video eventually, but med school keeps getting in the way... If there is anymore topics you would like covered in medical biochem, anatomy/embryology, physio, histology, immunology, math of any kind (up to linear algebra), or evidence based medicine let me know!

wow you are more smarter than our Advanced Biochem Prof.. He got the derivation wrong.

He substituted in Etotal = E(free enzyme) + ES as the whole thing into the equation, so in the end up we end up with all the same eqations except for Vmax = K2 (ETotal)

which is so obviously wrong in his notes.. I don't even know what to do.

  • amazing....very helpful and you presented it in an articulate manner! thanks so much for posting.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! you are really great !!! hats off

  • Initially u said Vo=k2(ES) , i think it was suppose to be V=k2(ES) because Vo means Initial velocity,u used V later in the equation........thanks so much for the nice video!

  • Yes thank you so much, you explained it very well :D The only problem with me is that, I forget them as soon as the video is over OTL

  • i am so happy i found this video. this is so awesome i falling in love with biochemistry

  • This clarified a lot of things! Thanks a million! :D

  • this guy is F-in amazing!

  • This is brilliant, marry me! :D
