    Try buying it before it is ripe (still green), and score it gently with a knife to release the bitter latex liquid, or "milk". Don't cut it too deeply, or the bitter liquid will be absorbed into the "meat" of the fruit!

    Let it sit for several hours until the cuts along the skin are sealed, then rinse it off.

    Wait a few days until it ripens to a yellow, orange or pinkish color (depending on the type of Papaya)...

    Now try cutting it. I guarantee you it will be very sweet. :)
