Caucasian family habits are much closer to Blacks than Asians. Don't place standards on others that your group hasn't fulfilled, either. I'm not denying the brilliance of Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, etc. because that's not what I'm getting at when I say culture. I mean having 2 parents, discipline, understanding the concept of delayed gratification, etc. Adopting these qualities is imperative to escaping poverty. Asians had jack when they got here and faced a lot of discrimination and now they're better off than anyone. It's because they come from a background that puts more stock in education, discipline and hard work.

Source? I could also point out that blacks get paid more than whites when all other factors are equal so that apples to apples comparisons are made (positions, jobs, experience, education).

Read what I wrote and cut out the ad hominems. I never said blacks didn't have terrible problems back then, I said they face less racism NOW then those other groups back then. And that's absolutely correct. There were signs all over the place saying "Irish need not apply". Japanese were rounded up and put in camps during WWII. What do blacks face today that even compare? Any "racism" found in our policies is balanced by affirmative action, welfare, and lower standards. This is an absolute joke.

And that's not to justify the racism that happened back then, but to say that there was a lot more of it with a lot less help and it was overcome by others. Blacks haven't advanced bc of culture. In spite of lowered academic and job standards and all sorts of aid, the fact that black homes are largely without fathers/discipline/any sort of emphasis on education and their leaders are acting like they can never rise above due to the "man" who happens to feed them is holding them back, and it's sad
