Undefeated. #5 in Class A. 1st Fairview Region Championship ever. Fast. Physical. ELIMINATED.
The Pikeville Panthers traveled to Fairview for the 2011 Class A Region IV Championship. The Eagles jumped out to a quick 18-0 lead early in the game thanks to a plethora of Panther errors. But the Panthers responded to the challenge and scored 20 unanswered points and held Fairview scoreless in the 2nd Half to claim the 19th Regional Championship in PHS Football History. Sophomore RB Chase Hall had a huge night, rushing for over 170 yards including a 74 yard TD run right before the half to give the Panthers the momentum going into the break. For the 2nd straight week, Coach Thacker's D shut out the opponent in the 2nd half due to great adjustments by the staff. The Fairview Title hopes were shot when Senior Safety Gavin Miller picked off a heave towards the endzone with under a minute left.
Head Coach Chris McNamee collects his 4th Regional Title (1999, 2000, 2004, 2011). The Panthers improve to 11-2 and will face Hazard in the Class A state semifinals on Black Friday in Hazard. JD Hughes and Jim Williamson were on the call on the Pikeville Football Radio Network, EKB. A special thanks to them for their gracious gift of the audio from the broadcast. HAIL PIKEVILLE!
Lmao at the end... the other team was so desperate after the interception. Oh well, good game! :D
