  • please tell me how to get it running.

  • i reinstalled it

    and it worked fine

  • First it was DeskMate shown, then MS-DOS's GUI. not Windows 1.0 but somethign that came with MS-DOS. I forgot what it was called but it wasn't windows. Windows was different than this.

  • Well, the tandy was set to boot to deskmate by defualt, i exit that and go back to dos... and from dos i loaded windows 1.0, which looks amazingly like microsoft;s later release "MS-DOS SHell". But this IS windows 1.0 as you can see by the splash screen that shows up

  • Back when Windows wern't so violent. Those days suck.

  • Or i think Windows was existed in 1992's, MS-DOS in 1984 until 1990

  • @ironmadion55 not really

  • Wow, did you triple boot with Tandy's DeskMate, MS-DOS and Windows 1.0?

  • I know this ISNT Microsoft Windows but why that thing called Microsoft Windows? Oh yeah that wasnt windows but it is Windows 95 computer running on Windows 1.0

  • @themaritimeman LOL, I felt the same way! I was like "Shit, this guy is commenting on something I said two years ago!", not to mention I was probably drunk :S

  • @compwiz878 Well, you can sort of get away with that if you use WinPE, but I do understand your point.

  • @compwiz878 Well, i've learned that since posting that comment 2 years ago, but thanks lol.

  • @eppinizer yeh but what was nice about those tandys is that it would boot up with out any bootup disks ie floppy disk or harddrives as they da a rom chip with an stripped down dos version on it that if u had a hard drive and it crashed u could still boot up and try recovering . computers today need that typ of chip for use as a failsafe boot option

  • @Bullettube ah u might want do some research first some tandy 1000's had a 80186 chip in them yes theer was an 186 cpu bak in the day and yes some had a 286 cpu in them aswell u might aslo do a google for deskmate and proly can get it today but an older version of it
