The local teabaggers in Philadelphia started something called "Liberate Philadelphia" that was supposed to be a counter to Occupy Philadelphia. It hasn't been too much of a counter considering we were there for 53 days and saw hide nor hair of them unless we knew about their Facebook page. On the day that Occupy Philadelphia was supposed to be evicted from Dilworth Plaza, the teabaggers came out to have a press conference, complete with the local radio host Dom Giordano, who is best known for his anti-Hispanic and anti-Muslim rantings. And the worst of it was that these clowns thought they could tell Occupy Philly what was "permissible" free speech. So...Occupy Philly extended to them the same respect they extended to us - which is why we call them teabaggers...
@MrMalcolm900 It was me doing the video. I was the one yelling at Dom Giordano. I was not happy that day. Yeah, there are times when we can reach across the aisle. There was going to be none of that with these particular folks.

@OnePeoplesProjecttv Yeah your right, the people have to be pissed before any true action can take place. I also agree with you they were the aggressor's (I think) can't make a judgement cause I was not there.

@MrMalcolm900 That's because the tea party is actually the establishment that we are all fighting. They are those financial aristocrats you spoke of in your other post! Their message is more coherent because when you own a conglomerate of television and radio channels, it is going to go much farther than a people's mic. And, by the way, the message is still crap.

@MrMalcolm900 I would say that emotion if anything is often is the spark of revolt, but I see where you're coming from. Still, take a look at the video again. From the name of this Tea Party's group ("Liberate" Philadelphia), the fact that they exist to oppose OWS (and until this event mind you, only online) and from what they were saying once they made an appearance ("We are the producers" - how elitist can you be?) in this case we are talking of them being the aggressors.

@OnePeoplesProjecttv Well I always say all revolts are intellectual not emotional, in order for a revolt to work against any oppressive governing system you have to not only be courageous but informed on that very system itself to make it tumble from the inside out. Separating yourselves from the Tea party is not a good move at all for that only creates Americans against Americans. And guess who wins? You guessed it!! the financial Aristocrats in power.

@OnePeoplesProjecttv No the tea party looks at the system and the role of America in the world today entirely different from Occupy, out of the two the tea party has a much more coherent message or had one at least than Occupy Wall Street. In terms of solutions I much more agree with the tea party on fixing America but there anger is misguided at the president when it's his advisers and the congressmen/women they should be after as well as corporate powers which influence them.

@MrMalcolm900 I would submit that while we are may have some degree of common ground, as you pointed out in your other post, the Tea Party comes from someplace else. George Will hit the nail on the head when he said the Tea Party was the "bourgeois in revolt". That's not Occupy.

@MrMalcolm900 It comes from a disagreement in how to advance America - IF that's in fact what folks want to do, which has to be pointed out since we have people on both sides who suggest that shouldn't even be the case. We can always find common ground with the issues - that's why we put up with each other in the first place - but there are always going to be those things where we cannot agree to let pass. We will always have the dealbreakers.

Both groups want to advance America so where does the fight come from?
